Amongst the highlights of the frauenkomponiert Festival will certainly be Alma Deutscher’s performances of her own violin concerto. She wrote the piece when she was nine, revised the first movement last year, and will just have turned 13 when she performs the work with us in Zürich, Basel and Bern. The work is very beautiful, showing an extraordinary mastery (mistressy?!) of harmony and counterpoint. And Alma’s violin playing is extraordinary too. Not to be missed!
