The interactive concert for school children in Münchenstein near Basel with actress Barbara Schneebeli was one of many great moments of the Festival frauenkomponiert 2018. The children were attentive and open to old and new music and participated with great enthusiasm. One girl received an impromptu first conducting lesson and acquitted herself with bravura – albeit with a wooden spoon rather than a baton! The orchestra also joined in the spirit of the whole marvellously, complete with hedgehog puppets, snakes amongst the bassoons and playing at the touch of a button (conveniently placed on one’s head…). Bravo!
